Day 97: St.Jude Campaign

St. Judes is a pediatric research hospital that specializes in curing children suffering from cancer and other at-risk diseases (St.Jude.org). If you read their website or subscribe to their email list, you will learn that they spend all of their donations on conducting research and creating effective treatment plans for their young patients. Volunteerism and giving back to the community are important to me which is why I enjoyed campaigning on behalf of St. Judes this past year. Read more about my amazing partnership with St.Judes this year and how you can help!

Since my St.Judes campaign happened to occur during the 100 Days of Motivation challenge, I want to share my unique experience with St.Judes with you as a part of this series to hopefully encourage you give back on your journey too.

It all started with the America's Miss Sweetheart pageant organization (AMS). The AMS organization is a proud partner of St.Judes and supports the hospital annually through fundraisers and campaigns. As Miss Georgia Sweetheart, it was my duty (and my fellow teammates) to campaign on their behalf to reach a goal of $250 that would be donated to our national partner, St.Judes.

Since this campaign launched during one of the most unprecedented moments in history, the Corona virus pandemic, raising money was very challenging. I was not able to physically go to businesses or walk around my neighborhood because everyone's safety is my top priority. Originally I was worried that I would not be able to reach my goal because it seemed the economy was moving unexpectedly and people were going through battles of their own, however my thoughts were proved wrong. Instead of reaching our goal, we exceeded it!

I was blown away at how supportive my community was. Together, we raised $310 for children at St.Judes who we're affected by COVID-19 (the AMS organization raised a total of . I am thankful for all the donations and repost that added value to our campaign. I am also most thankful for America's Miss Sweetheart for granting me the opportunity to give back with a supportive team beside me.

Thanks to us and many other people like you, COVID treatments/ prevention tools have been given to St.Jude Children’s Hospital and many lucky children gets to live a better life.
