Every Day is Beautiful If You Choose to See Beauty in it

Comment something beautiful happening to you right now
Today is beautiful for me because I woke up to the nice Georgia sunshine peeking through my window and also because it’s Sunday. Aside from those two exceptions, I think every day is beautiful in its own unique way. Here are three things to keep in mind, next time you're having a bad day.
You Have Control Over Your Day
The first thing to remember is that you have complete control over yourself and your time. Every action and reaction you choose throughout your day can truly shape your emotions for the rest of the day. If you start the morning off rough, that doesn't mean the rest of the day needs to reflect it. Let's say your coffee spills in your car on your way to work and now you're late to your job. Someone who experiences negative emotions in that scenario chooses to react in a hot-tempered way for the rest of the day and therefore they choose to fall victim to any negative outcomes it may bring. However, someone who experienced the same negative emotions in that scenario and decides to allow that emotion to have its time, will ultimately move past the experience and look for other opportunities throughout their day to seek joy. In this example, the person with the most self-control, in this case, the second scenario, would find themselves feeling more satisfied with their day regardless of the mishaps. Because the second person chose to accept the emotions and move on, they ultimately have more control over themselves and their day.
It's All About Perspective
Everything we do in life comes down to our perspective. According to Dictionary.cambridge.org , perspective is a particular way of viewing things that depend on one's experience and personality. It is our unique perspective that drives our expectations. Sometimes our perspective can lead to unwanted thoughts, emotions, or false judgments and this can be fatal. If you get into a disagreement with your friend, would it be rational to unfriend that person because they don't agree with you? In most cases no, unless the disagreement is on a very touchy subject in which case leaving the friendship might be the best option. However, in most cases, It would be more rational to accept that you and your friend have two different opinions because you have two different perspectives. In the same way, we should see every day from the best perspective we can. Wake up with the intention of having the best day possible and allow your perspective to see good in whatever you do. If you are having a bad day, change the way you see the situation. We know this is easier said than done, which leads me to the final thing you should keep in mind when you're having a bad day.
Mindfulness Matters
Mindfulness is a highly recommended practice of having awareness of one's mind. In another blog, I will go more in-depth on the practice of mindfulness but I will also touch on its importance here. When it comes to seeing the beauty in your day, mindfulness can help add a touch of sprinkles on top of your already amazing cake. It takes mindfulness to bring peace and contentedness to help you see the brighter day. I consider following the 7 steps to achieve mindfulness in order to reach your full potential. The practice of mindfulness matters because once you have mastered the art of being peacefully content in any situation, your life will be so much more fulfilling and so will your day.
